This e-Train Advantage online course is specifically designed for new board members or as a refresher course for those districts considering the development of board operating procedures. The course includes basic information concerning a Board member’s legal status and liability, duties and powers, authority in the hiring, firing, and evaluation of personnel, ethical responsibilities, training requirements, and removal from office. This course does not address the Texas Open Meetings Act or the Texas Public Information Act, as video training is offered free through the Texas Attorney General’s website on these topics. Board Member 101 does not include teambuilding or goal-setting training due to the nature of the course and the desired specificity for each individual district. This course does not fulfill a new Board member’s orientation to the Texas Education Code training requirement.
This e-Train Advantage online course includes basic information concerning BloodbornePathogens, as required by state and OSHA regulations. The training identifies important bloodborne pathogens, universalprecautions, a district's exposure control plan, and the appropriate response to an exposure incident. NOTE: To satisfystate and OSHA regulations, this training must be completed while a qualified trainer (i.e. the school nurse) is available torespond to questions
